Let’s talk about Bones and All, a movie so intense and messy that it’s basically what happens when Venus and Mars signs collide with zero chill. And yes, my review is simple: love me to eat. Literally.
This movie is raw, it’s haunting, and it’s strangely tender, like if you asked a Scorpio Venus to write a love story, this is what you’d get. And trust me, the zodiac energy in this film is screaming.
Maren (Venus in Pisces): Sweet, dreamy, and just wants to belong, even if it means embracing the messy, bloody truth of herself. She’s soft but not weak, and her longing for love and acceptance is straight out of a Pisces Venus journal entry.
Lee (Mars in Scorpio): Brooding, intense, and mysterious AF. He’s all about passion, survival, and pulling you into his dark world, classic Scorpio Mars energy. The way he loves Maren? Obsessive, consuming, and completely ride-or-die (sometimes literally).
Together, they’re a cosmic match for the ages, Venus yearning for connection, Mars bringing the fire (or in this case, hunger). It’s primal, it’s poetic, and it’s deeply disturbing.
This movie doesn’t just hint at zodiac archetypes. It serves them up on a silver platter.
Venus in Cancer: The craving for unconditional love and safety. Both Maren and Lee are looking for someone who accepts them, scars and all (literally). Cancer Venus energy would absolutely cry over this movie.
Mars in Capricorn: The survival instincts and practicality behind their actions. They’re not just wandering aimlessly. They’ve got a goal. Even if it’s, uh, unconventional.
Venus in Scorpio: The dark, all-or-nothing romance at the heart of the story. This movie asks, “How far would you go for love?” and Scorpio Venus answers, “As far as it takes, babe.”
Watching Bones and All felt like falling into a twisted love letter written by the stars. It’s messy, heartbreaking, and yes, gross at times. But isn’t that what love is, in its own way? It makes you think about the parts of yourself you hide and what it means when someone sees all of you and stays.
It’s the kind of film that leaves you feeling a little haunted, but in a good way. Like remembering a relationship that consumed you, maybe not literally, but close enough.
If you’re into astrology, primal love stories, or movies that make you question everything, Bones and All is for you. Just don’t watch it on an empty stomach or maybe do, depending on how adventurous you’re feeling.
And it’s not every day you see a love story this intense. 10/10, would existentially cry over it again.
